WLiT Safety & Policy Initiatives

Safer-I

The Safer-I campaign targets structural vulnerabilities in contemporary systems, addressing info-security, user accessibility architectures, and safety matrices for marginalized nodes. WLiT has uniquely launched contextually localized curriculum designs detailing disability-accessible patterns for engineering students.

Historic Milestone Registry (2022-2023 Cycles)

Compensation & privacy maps (377 items); Safer Series insights (2,000+ targeted actions); Disability Q&A datasets (3,500+ items); Pride documentation channels (10,000+ views); and targeted regional technical toolsets deployed in Ilam and Dharan.

Policy Consultation
WLiT Policy & Civic Advocacy

Digital Rights, OGBV & Policy Alignment

Operating explicitly at the vital nexus of tech infrastructure and human rights, WLiT works systematically to map out and counteract Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) and Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV).

In 2025, WLiT convened multi-stakeholder diagnostic consultations titled *Understanding and Addressing Online Gender-Based Violence* alongside the Digital Rights Action Group (DRAG), backed by ICNL and Norway. The panel bridged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau, developing national policy recommendation registers.

WLiT’s executives maintain clear, constant involvement across regional and international governance forums, preserving a localized, feminist blueprint in heavily technocratic spaces.

Supervised dynamically by Rajani Chulyadyo and Amrit Sir, this strategic node successfully gathered nearly 80 system practitioners at the NTIC building. The architecture deployed dedicated interactive clusters breaking down systemic assumptions:

Wall of Hopes & Reflection

Peer exchange units centered on customized `#iamremarkable` templates, concluding in a structured alignment matrix built of sticky futures.

State Integration Tracking

Agma Malakar curated the module *"Women in Tech for and within the Government"*, resolving career myths and tracing clear avenues for public technology management roles.

Multi-Tier Panel Conversations

Featured speakers Guna Kesari Pradhan, Roja Kiran Basukala, Sarila Ngakhusi, and Praynita Karki combined domain records during the *"Challenges and Opportunities"* panel.

Ecological Gamification Loops

The Hult Prize team deployed gamified modules mapping the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to teach strategic community mechanics.

Post-Event Optimization SummaryDespite a sudden 30% reduction in logistical throughput due to minor transportation barriers, the execution engine repurposed asset design toolsets and cert systems. Budget insights have formalised adaptive framework reserves and added preparatory webinar pipelines for future events.

Women Data Insights: Civic Hacking

In strategic coordination with Ankamala under the guidance of the Women in Data Steering Committee, WLiT co-hosted *Women Data Insights: Civic Hacking for Change* in late 2024. Deployed synchronously across Tilottama (Lumbini) and Surkhet (Karnali), the intense sprints hosted 63 active developers. Selected tracks produced 4 formal investigative research papers.

Data Literacy for Government Officials

During the 2025 pipelines, WLiT built and presented data management tracks for civic workers inside Lekbesi Municipality and Simta Rural Municipality. The infrastructure was duplicated for the staff of the Lumbini Provincial Planning Commission. Reaching 89 public workers across 3 modules, the structure generated 10 explicit courses covering base cybersecurity, structural storage, and statistical configurations.
